PATRICK N. McTEAGUE is a co-founder of the Firm which leads with his name. After a distinguished career practicing law for forty years, he now serves as Senior Counsel to the Firm. Pat is a graduate of Miami University and received his Juris Doctorate from Ohio State University. He has been admitted to practice law in Maine and before the United States District Court, the First and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. From 1962 to 1965 he served on active duty as a Lieutenant with the United States Naval Reserve.

Pat has represented Maine unions and workers in major labor disputes and negotiations for over thirty years in the industries of paper, shipbuilding, construction and retailing. He has a long career representing clients under the National Labor Relations Act, ERISA, arbitrations, contract negotiations, labor injunctions, personal injury and fair employment practice matters. Pat has been designated by Best Lawyers in America for recognition in the Labor and Employment Law and Workers Compensation areas of practice.  He served as the Public Member to the ERISA Advisory Council of the United States Department of Labor from 1999-2002.

Pat McTeague has served the needs of Maine citizens not only in legal representation but also by a distinguished career of public service. From 1968 to 1974, he served in the Maine House of Representatives, where he was a member of the Labor Committee (1969-1972) and the Assistant Democratic Floor Leader (1970-1974). In this role, he was the prime sponsor of the Maine Human Rights Act and a leader in environmental protection, economic development, government reorganization and educational funding legislation. From 1971-1975, Pat served on the Maine Judicial Council and from 1976-1977 on the Maine Civil Rules Advisory Committee. 

In appellate litigation before the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, Pat has a lifetime prevail record of over 80% in 40 cases.  His latest federal Court of Appeals case involved approximately 550 workers under ERISA, Adams et al. v. Bowater, 313 F.3d 611 (1st Cir. 2002)
