Stephanie heads up the lawsuit recently filed by McTeague Higbee Case in U.S. District Court, Maine, on behalf of Canadians who have been denied the purchase of new automobiles by U.S. auto dealers. The complaint alleges that manufacturers' policies prohibiting sales, or mandating less-favorable terms of sale of vehicles to Canadians, and the dealers' denial of sales, violate anti-discrimination statutes that prohibit discrimination on the basis of nation of origin. These practices violate the civil rights of individuals as well as the economic interests of both Canadians and Americans. Automobile manufacturers named in the complaint include General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota and Jeep.
