JANMARIE TOKER is a native of Portland Maine, graduating from Catherine McAuley High School, Bates College and the University of Maine School of Law. In addition to the state and federal courts in Maine, Janmarie is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the District of Columbia and the First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Janmarie currently practices social security disability law and workers' compensation law in both the state and federal systems.  She focuses most of her practice on federal Longshore cases and is interested in helping workers through the Longshore system.   Janmarie joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner in 1990. Janmarie has spoken on workers' compensation law, including most recently presenting the employee's perspective in the Advanced Workers' Compensation Law seminar. Janmarie has also authored "Maine's Workers' Compensation Law as It Affects Maine's Working Women". Before joining McTeague Higbee, Janmarie served as an Assistant District Attorney in York County.
